Benefit Concert for Zalomi

On Friday, May 23, the Pniël Chamber Choir organized a benefit concert for Zalomi in the beautiful Oude Kerk in Zeist. The choir consists of 17 enthusiastic amateur singers, driven by a passion for music and singing, and was founded out of a love for singing.

It was a wonderful evening centered on our connection to the work in Romania. The work at the “Lumina” (“Light”) community centers in Romania can be described by the key words “God’s care, love, light, and caring for one another.” These themes were musically portrayed in songs that express these values. For example, the songs “Source of Love, Light, and Life” and “God So Loved the World” rang beautifully through the church.

Halfway through the program, a video was shown in which we provided a glimpse into the work being done at the community centers. Both the Lumina Colorom and Lumina Nord community centers were featured, and we used this to highlight the range of activities: from reading the Bible and praying to arts and crafts and playing games. And, of course, there was plenty of music.

What a wonderful and meaningful evening. Many thanks to the Pniël Chamber Choir for organizing this benefit concert and for performing the songs so beautifully!
