We work with local people as much as possible, because they know the culture, norms, and values better than anyone else, and that is of great importance.
Jacqueline is based in Romania and, together with an enthusiastic team, is focused on the implementation of the community centers. Among other things, she is involved in the development of the Lumina community center and is focused on the long-term vision.
In addition, she is involved in setting up new activities and supports Tania, Andreea, and the volunteers as needed.
By being there every day, you’ll see and experience firsthand that you’re truly making a difference in the lives of children and teens.

Tania
Tania works for our Romanian foundation, “Lumina,” and is employed full-time at the community centers. Together with Andreea, she organizes the daily programs. Tania has been involved since the beginning and is primarily active at the Lumina Colorom community center.
In addition to leading the kids’ club, Tania’s responsibilities include coming up with and preparing activities, themes, crafts, and games. This also includes conducting parent-teacher conferences and organizing parent meetings.
Tania is a born teacher; her natural love and warmth toward children are invaluable. The children adore her, and in her own natural and practical way, she shares the Christian gospel with them. For Tania, this is the most important thing in her life and the foundation of Lumina.
Andreea
Andreea has a warm and generous heart for children and is a valuable addition to the Lumina team. She also works for our Romanian foundation.
Together with Tania, she runs the children’s programs. She works at Lumina Nord four days a week, and on Wednesdays she works with Tania at Lumina Colom.
In addition to carrying out the programs, her duties also include planning them. Every week, she works with Tania to come up with a new theme, including educational components, games, and arts and crafts activities.
Her creative, caring, and inspiring attitude has a positive influence on the children. They feel seen and loved by her, and they see Lumina as a place where they feel at home—something that is very important to us.
Mihai
Mihai is 19 years old, a college student, and an avid basketball player. A few years ago, he came to faith, and his heart burns with passion for God. He grew up in and lives in the Colorom neighborhood, where the community center is also located. Mihai knows the problems faced by the teenagers in this neighborhood better than anyone.
Because he has experienced how life can change through and with God, he is eager to serve young people. Mihai volunteers with the youth group. He prepares Bible studies and organizes activities for the teenagers. His enthusiasm is inspiring; he gives it his all.
Cristian Cojoc
Cristian is Tania’s husband and contributes to the Lumina team on a part-time basis as a volunteer. He lived in the Netherlands for many years and speaks Dutch, which is very helpful.
Cristian regularly attends the youth group, where he offers support when needed. He also helps out whenever possible, and if something needs to be arranged, just call Cristian; he’ll make sure it always gets taken care of.
