Zalomi: Sharing Faith and Finding Meaning
The Zalomi Foundation is a Christian foundation that establishes and supports community centers in Romania.
The Zalomi Foundation was established out of a desire to share the Christian faith and give it meaning. It is a young, dynamic, and modern foundation that combines entrepreneurship with missionary work.
The Zalomi Foundation has established two community centers in the poorest neighborhoods of Codlea, Romania. The Zalomi Foundation is the Dutch foundation, and Asociația Lumina is the Romanian foundation.
And let’s be honest; everything costs money. Just like in business, that’s why you have to make a well-considered decision. Because only then can you be sure that the money is being spent 100% wisely. And do we choose one option over another?

Wisdom and Peace
The name Zalomi is derived from “Solomon.” Solomon, a king in the Bible, was known for his wisdom. This wisdom is essential for us as we share the gospel and engage in missionary work. The name Solomon also refers to “peace.” This peace is associated with the peace found in faith in Jesus.
Spreading Light
The name Lumina means “light” in Romanian. This is at the heart of the missionary work in the community centers: to be a light in a dark environment, just as Jesus’ command in Matthew 5 states:“You are the light of the world.”
At the same time, we share The Light, as Jesus Himself puts it in John 8: “I am the Light of the world; whoever follows Me will certainly not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Execution
Jacqueline is responsible for carrying out the work at the community centers in Codlea. She represents the Romanian foundation Asociația Lumina and spends most of her time in Romania. This allows her to focus on the day-to-day operations of the community centers, such as keeping the focus on the vision, managing Tania, Andreea, and the volunteers, setting up new programs, and providing support during activities.
Of course, this also involves carrying out marketing activities for both the Zalomi Foundation and Lumina. This includes, for example, creating newsletters and keeping the website and social media up to date.
Our foundation relies on donations. To retain our current donors and attract new ones, we need to stay in the public eye.
To this end, Jacqueline is working with the board in the Netherlands to raise awareness, organize campaigns, and come up with new ideas.
