Lumina Community Center is celebrating its first anniversary!

It’s party time this month! Lumina Community Center is turning 1! What a milestone! Of course, we celebrated the 1-year anniversary together with the children and teens.

On January 13, 2024, we opened the doors to our first community center in the Colorom neighborhood, and on January 13, 2025, we look back on a year filled with so many wonderful developments.

The year has flown by, but we’re so happy to see how our children’s and teen clubs have grown! The children’s club has grown tremendously, with lots of enthusiastic kids coming every week. The teen club took a little longer to get off the ground, but we’re happy to see that about 10–15 young people are now gathering every week. We’re incredibly grateful for all of this.

To celebrate our anniversary, we organized a week of festivities at Lumina. The children made colorful cards, baked and decorated cupcakes, and enjoyed this tasty treat.

Of course, we’d also bought some treats for the teens, and we treated them to a delicious snack. It was a festive week! The enthusiastic responses from the children and teens about Lumina are incredibly encouraging and, above all, motivate us to keep offering activities.

We’re curious to see what the second year will bring, and we look forward to continuing this wonderful journey together.
